The next level of environmental conservation has arrived in Niagara!
For those of you who are sensitive to the environmental needs of our planet, you're in for a treat. For those of you who think you know all about Ball's Fall's already, you're in for a big surprise. The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority would like to welcome you to the Ball's Falls Centre for Conservation.
The new building, which is at the fore-front of conservation education and tourism in Niagara, stands in compliment to the historical setting and the unique ecological environment which makes up the Ball's Falls area. It houses inspirational exhibits and learning environments which focus on the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve.
With Multi-purpose spaces which provide education programs, community gatherings and rotating exhibits which will accent the permanent watershed management and the 2000 year history of Ball's Falls exhibits, this new Conservation Centre has intriguing and useful tools to help positively shape our affect on the planet.
The building itself incorporates innovative design based on the Leadership in Environment and Energy Design guidelines established by the Canadian Green Building Council to ensure the site is contained within the smallest possible environmental footprint. Amongst it's key attributes are; erosion and sedimentation control, light pollution control, cutting-edge water management systems, natural heating and cooling measures and high percentage recycled content. Additionally, all new materials necessary for construction were carefully selected based on "Greenguard" standards to ensure minimal residual impact on the ecosystem.
This is one of Ontario's greatest eco-tourism attractions. You won't want to miss out on everything you thought you knew about our environment.
